The digester
residue can, if necessary, be passed through the solids recovery system and
pumped back into the digester for enhanced biomass activity. The liquid is
pumped into a discharge sump for subsequent treatment, storage or release,
or treated further using proprietary technology to produce clean liquid.
Residual anaerobic bacteria may be destroyed if required, by introducing air into the residue. The plant discharge can, therefore, be pumped directly into the receiving waters or municipal sewage systems.
Anaerobic or aerobic post treatment for exceptionally concentrated wastes
can also be incorporated.![]()
